Description
BEATLES UK, With the Beatles, undocumented ridged /textured record labels UK mono LP.
1963 PMC 1206, unusual variant yellow and black Parlophone record
labels.
A UK mono album in original condition, featuring:
1. rare and undocumented ‘textured / ridged’ record labels,
a. each of the record labels feature very unusual ‘ridges’ that can be felt with the finger tip, seen to the outer edge of the record labels,
b. each of the record labels feature an unusual, ‘heavy textured surface’,
2. the record label on side two features an unusual text layout, as it features the track title, ‘Devil in her heart’, printed on one line of text, usually this track title appears on two lines of text,
3. the sleeve features the printed title of, 'Gotta', but on the record label this track title is printed as, 'Got a', for the track, 'You really got a hold on me',
4. more unusual 'mothers’ engraved onto the record as they feature, 'three numbers', side one is, ‘315’, and side two is, ‘212’,
5. comes with its original EMI black and white advertising inner sleeve.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition. The sleeve is laminated at the front. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained clean, white and straight and all of the text on the spine is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve features the original period 1960s ‘tri flip back’ design, ie fold over edges. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. To the top edge there is a split to the centre and to the lower edge there is also a split to the centre.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good condition and is the original period EMI black and white advertising inner sleeve. There are NO tears, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the inner sleeve. Each of the two side edges have a split at the centre and the bottom edge also has a split at the centre.
THE RECORD: side one, track three has a mark across part of the playing surface so I will grade track three as being in very good condition, the rest of side one is in excellent+ condition, note the condition of the playing surfaces have been graded under normal 'daylight' conditions. Side two is in excellent+ condition. The record is made from the period 1960s ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl. The record has remained very dark and glossy.
The records 'engraved' matrix is: XEX 447 – 7N and XEX 448 – 7N,
The records 'engraved', 'mother/stampers' are: ‘315 GTR’ and ‘212 RRG’.
THE AUDIO: side one, I did hear some 'ticks' on track three so I will grade the audio on track three as very good, the rest of side one plays excellent++ with excellent quiet grooves. Side two, plays excellent++ with excellent quiet grooves. The record plays with a full powerful, loud period 'mono' sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE RECORD LABELS: each of the record labels are in excellent++ condition. The letters ‘KT’ are embossed around the spindle hole on side two. Each of the record labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue
TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE GRADING SYSTEM BASED UPON THE GUIDE FROM THE UK'S ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.
