BEATLES UK - Sgt Pepper, UK one EMI box mono.
PMC 7027 – hard to find black and silver, one EMI box, mono Parlophone labels.
A UK pressing in original condition, featuring:
1. hard to find one EMI box mono record labels. During the middle of 1969 in the UK, EMI were going through their mono to stereo change over. With the new concept of Stereo recording techniques it was thought at the time that there would be no demand for mono records anymore. However EMI made the decision to design and print a very small number of these one EMI box mono labels. Only a very small number of these record labels were ever printed.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in good++ condition, the condition of the sleeve would have been graded higher, but there is a tear to the rear of the sleeve. An original UK mono ‘flip back’ gate fold sleeve. The glossy sleeve is fully laminated. The four opening edges of the sleeve have remained clean for their age. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained clean and white in colour and all of the text is clear to read on the spine. When the gate fold sleeve is opened the original exposed top two flip backs can be seen. There are NO stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. As mentioned above, to the rear, top left corner there is a 60mm tear and some rubbing wear to the rear bottom left edge.
THE CARD INSERT: the green card insert is not present.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition and is the original period EMI advertising red and white sleeve. The two opening edges have remained clean. There are NO tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a slight split to one of the side edges.
THE RECORD: is in good++ condition. It is made from the period 1960s, ‘thick’, heavy vinyl.
The matrix are: XEX 637 - 1 and XEX 638 - 1,
The mother/stampers are: ‘2 M D L’ and ‘ 7 M O D’.
THE AUDIO: is very good+, it plays with some ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The record plays with a loud, full period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: are in near very good condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
