Description
BEATLES UK – ‘Sgt Pepper’ Mono mispress label !.
PMC 7027 – black and yellow Parlophone labels without the text ‘Sold in UK’ etc.
A UK album in 100% original condition featuring:
These hard to find label variants were the last black and yellow labels to appear in the 1960s. The text ‘Sold in UK’ etc was removed from the labels. These labels were around in mid 1969 and were only around for a very short while until the label design changed once more, featuring:
1. these labels are hard enough to find but this particular label on side one appears to have a mispress on the word ‘Getting’ on the track ‘Getting Better’ as it appears to have been mispressed as ‘ Getiing’ ! ie mis spelt with a double ‘ i i ’ !
2. the main sleeve is also unusual as it has an additional line of text that appears at the bottom rear right corner that states ‘Patents Pending’ !.
CONDITION:
THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, it is fully laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained a good clean white and all the text is clear to read. There are NO splits, tears, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.
THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original red and white EMI advertising sleeve. The sleeve has NO pen writing, tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue. The sleeve has a slight split to one of the side edges.
THE INSERT: the original DARK green card insert is present and is in excellent condition. Theres NO pen writing, tears, stains, stickers or sticker residue.
THE VINYL: side one is in very good condition, side two is in very good+ condition, each side has mainly ‘scuff’ marks on the playing surfaces, it has remained dark and glossy. The vinyl is made from the period thick, heavy vinyl.
The matrix nos. are: XEX 637 – 1 and XEX 638 - 1, first press Mono matrix !
The Mother/Stampers are: ‘ 3 7 M M T ’ and ‘ 0 (what looks like a ‘0’ with a tail on top ! ) and R M M ’.
THE AUDIO: side one is very good, it plays with some crackle, side two also plays very good but with some crackle and light ‘ticks’ to be heard here and there. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable.
THE LABELS: side one is in excellent condition, side two is in very good++ condition. There are NO letters embossed onto the labels. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.
