Extremely rare EP by The Beatles: "Yesterday".... and Today The Beatles Top of the Pops. Extremely rare and highly sought after heavy cardboard sleeve and disc. While Capitol didn't actually produce this release, many are fooled because of its professional appearance, fine artwork and convincing yellow label. Capitol Promotional P 9431 (45-X45000). Again, this is not an actual Capitol release but has become a most desired addition to serious collectors of the Beatles vinyl records. This original release has been copied over the years by other non-authorized manufacturers. Those other reproductions are printed and made using cheap inferior materials and haven't nearly the impact this first version has. This is the one the others try and mimic. The real thing.
Cardboard picture sleeve has an alternate (blue background, trunk pose) on the B Side, and an alternate butcher shot on the A Side. I bought this new at the Los Angeles/Hollywood Capitol Records Tower monthly Saturday night swap meet they used to host in the late 70s. The recordings on the disc are actually BBC live versions of the songs you see on my scans. The good news here is I played the disc maybe once or twice and then stored it away in a Japanese re-sealable clear sleeve. I kept the disc stored separately from the cover so there is no ring wear. There is absolutely no wear to either side of the sleeve, it looks as new. No fading, colors are still bright and beautiful. You will not find a better copy so this is your final upgrade. There is no edge wear to spine, top, bottom or mouth. If you see what looks like a "bump to the upper right corner of the B Side, it is only a manufacturer's fold. It was like that when I bought it.
