On offer here is a VERY rare LP (especially in this condition!!!!) by The Beatles called 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' and is an ORIGINAL 1967 MONO UK 1st Pressing on the 1st Press Yellow & Black Parlophone label!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! IT IS ONE OF THE RAREST BEATLES LPS EVER AND INCREDIBLY SOUGHT AFTER!!!! BUT WHAT MAKES THIS LP REALLY SPECIAL IS THAT IT HAS ONE OF THE RAREST BEATLES COVER VARIATIONS EVER - AND IS ALSO COMPLETELY MISPRESSED!!!! INCREDIBLY THIS LP IS THE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESSING EVER - WITH AN IMPOSSIBLY RARE 'FOURTH PROOF' COVER (SEE PICTURE!)!!!! THE FIRST 3 'PROOFS' OF THIS COVER WERE NEVER USED IN FINAL PRODUCTION (THEY WERE REJECTED) AND THE 'FOURTH PROOF' WAS THE FINAL RELEASED VERSION OF THIS LPS COVER. HOWEVER DUE A MAJOR ERROR RIGHT AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE 1ST PRESSING RUN - A VERY VERY FEW 'FOURTH PROOF' COVERS WERE MISTAKENLY USED IN PRODUCTION - WITH 'FOURTH PROOF' CLEARLY PRINTED ON THE INSIDE TOP RIGHT FLIPBACK!!!! AND TODAY IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND ONE OF THESE 'EARLIEST' 1ST PRESS COVERS WITH 'FOURTH PROOF' TEXT AND IS ONE OF THE RAREST BEATLES COVER VARIATIONS EVER!!!! AND WHAT ALSO SHOWS THAT THIS WAS ONE OF THE 'EARLIEST' COVERS EVER MADE FOR THIS LP IS THAT THIS LP HAS THE VERY RARE 'PATENTS PENDING' TEXT ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE REVERSE OF THE COVER (SEE PICTURE!) - AND AGAIN MOST COVERS DO NOT HAVE THIS TEXT!!!! THIS LP IS SERIOUSLY RARE WITH THIS AMAZING COVER VARIATION AND SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND!!!! BUT THERE IS ONE OTHER INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT DETAIL - THAT CLEARLY SHOWS THAT THIS PARTICULAR COVER WAS A 'TRIAL' COVER, AND NEVER INTENDED FOR PRODUCTION USE!!!! AND THAT IS THAT IT IS COMPLETELY MISPRESSED!!!! IT HAS MANY MANY DIFFERENCES THAT I HAVE NEVER EVER SEEN BEFORE ON THIS COVER!!!! JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE INCREDIBLE DIFFERENCES ON THIS COVER!!!! I PUT THIS ULTRA RARE 'PROOF' COVER NEXT TO A NORMAL MONO 1ST PRESSING - AND THE DIFFERENCES ARE SIMPLY AMAZING!!!! IF YOU LOOK AT MY COMPARISON PICTURES YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE:
1) IN THE PICTURE OF THE TWO 'OPEN' SGT PEPPER COVERS (THE PROOF COVER IS AT THE BOTTOM) - YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE PROOF COVER IS MUCH LIGHTER. YOU ALSO CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT GEORGE HARRISONS JACKET IS PINK (INSTEAD OF RED!) AND JOHN LENNONS JACKET IS ALMOST YELLOW (INSTEAD OF GREEN!)!!!! I HAVE A ALSO TAKEN ANOTHER CLOSE UP PICTURE OF GEORGE HARRISON COMPARING TWO COVERS (THE PROOF ONE IS ON THE LEFT) AND AGAIN THIS SHOWS THE AMAZING DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS ULTRA RARE 'PROOF COVER' - AND A NORMAL ONE!!!! 2) IN THE CLOSE UP PICTURE OF THE COVER FRONT - YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT THE WHOLE FRONT COVER IS COMPLETELY OUT OF FOCUS!!!! I HAVE TAKEN A VERY CLOSE UP PICTURE OF THE BEATLES FACES ON THE COVER FRONT - AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THAT ALL THEIR FACES ARE DOUBLE PRINTED AND COMPLETELY OUT OF FOCUS!!!! 3) I HAVE ALSO TAKEN A PICTURE OF TWO INSERTS!!!! THE ONE THAT CAME WITH THIS 'PROOF' COVER IS INCREDIBLY DARK GREEN IN THE COLOUR (SHOWN ON THE RIGHT IN THE PICTURE!) - AND AGAIN IS VERY DIFFERENT TO THE INSERTS SUPPLIED WITH LATER STANDARD MONO 1ST PRESSINGS!!!!! THESE DIFFERENCES ARE SIMPLY AMAZING - AND VERY CLEARLY SHOW THAT THIS WASNT THE FINISHED PRODUCT - AND THIS WAS CLEARLY A 'TEST COVER' TO SEEK APPROVAL!!!! WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY IT HAS 'FOURTH PROOF' STAMPED ON THE TOP FLIPBACK!!!! THIS LP IS HARD ENOUGH TO FIND AS A STANDARD 'FOURTH PROOF' COVER - BUT TO FIND ONE COMPLETELY MISPRESSED LIKE THIS ONE IS - IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!! IT COULD EVEN BE COMPLETELY UNIQUE - AND THIS MUST SURELY BE CONSIDERED A 'ONCE IN A LIFETIME' CHANCE!!!!NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS NOT ONLY THAT BUT THIS LP IS 100% COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL RED/WHITE INNER SLEEVE, AND 1ST PRESS INSERT - AND IS IN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT CONDITION!!!! JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE PICTURES!!!! This is the ORIGINAL UK MONO 1st Pressing from 1967 and is in BRILLIANT condition!!!! The record is pressed on THICK quality vinyl. The matrix numbers are XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1. The Cat. No is PMC 7027 on the ORIGINAL 1st Press Yellow & Black Parlophone label (see picture) and is a MONO 1st pressing!!!! All the tracks are Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!! Any fan of The Beatles, or 60s music in general, will want to have this in their collection!!!!
The record labels are in SUPERB condition (see pictures) with NO wear, NO writing, and only a few light spindle marks!!!! The vinyl is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition!!!! Most of these 60s LPs had been to a lot of wild parties and are usually found totally worn out, and almost unplayable. This one is NOT and has NO scratches, NO hairlines, only 2 or 3 absolutely ULTRA light scufflines (only visible under the most EXTREME light possible!), and only a VERY few of the lightest paper scuffs only visible under light!!!! There is also 1 absolutely TINY 'pressing mark' - though this is 100% certainly from manufacture (and NOT from any wear!) and is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to see!!!! THE RECORD STILL RETAINS ITS ORIGINAL 'JUST PRESSED' LOOK AND RETAINS AN AWESOME SHINE!!!! It is also great to find that the playing of the record is as STUNNING as the visual!!!! It plays with NO nasty loud pops, only 3 or 4 VERY light clicks/pops (from the TINY 'pressing mark' mentioned above), NO sticking, NO jumps, barely ANY crackle AT ALL, and only some INCREDIBLY low level background sound on the run on grooves (barely ANY elsewhere!)!!!! The record must STRICTLY grade Very Good++++ if not better!!!! Believe me this record is NOT overgraded in ANY way!!!! I use STRICT RC grading standards - it is not in my interest not to!!!! Brillant!!!! The record also comes in its ORIGINAL Red/White inner sleeve which is in BRILLIANT condition and most importantly UNSPLIT!!!! The ORIGINAL 'Earliest' 1st Press 'Darker' Green 'cut-out' insert is in AWESOME uncreased condition and has clearly NEVER been removed from the cover!!!! The ULTRA RARE 'Earliest' 1st Press 'Fourth Proof' Gatefold Flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' FULLY Laminated 'Patents Pending' Mispressed MONO Cover is in absolutely BRILLIANT condition!!!! It has NO edge wear, only an absolutely TINY touch of 'darkening' to the EXTREME top rear edge, barely ANY spinal wear AT ALL (virtually NONE - and side words ALL readable!), only VERY slight corner wear (NOT through the colour!), shiny laminate, only a VERY few light creases (cover is VERY flat looking!), and NO writing!!!! The opening edges are beautifully straight with NO feathering!!!! Even the inside of the cover is in SUPERB condition wh NO writing, NO grubbyness, NO yellowing, STUNNING flipbacks, and an SUPERB inside spine!!!! The cover must MEGA STRICTLY grade Very Good++++ if not better and VERY close to a grade above!!!! THIS LP IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WITH THIS AMAZING MISPRESSED 'PROOF' COVER VARIATION, AND IT WILL SURELY BE A VERY VERY LONG TIME (IF EVER!) BEFORE YOU GET ANOTHER CHANCE TO OWN ONE OF THESE AGAIN - SO DONT MISS OUT ON THIS INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY!!!
