Beatles Stereo Peeled Scranton PA Butcher Cover w/Removed Trunk Slick and Record
Up for auction is a genuine peeled 1966 Scranton STEREO 3rd State Butcher Cover. Recently got this in a trade and it's the lowest price offering in a rare stereo cover that I have had in a long time. There are a few minor condition considerations so please look at the attached photos.The opening bid is very low for a Stereo Butcher that is worthy of framing.
As you can see from the photos, this is a better than average peel that presents well. The only issue worth mentioning is a fingernail sized abrasion on John's left arm near his hand. As you can see, this doesn't take away from the beauty of this rare cover which is at least five times more rare than a Mono jacket. Other than that, this Butcher presents minimal glue lines or small touch ups.
Top seam shows several inches of seam cracks that were neatly closed. Bottom seam is mostly complete with some cracks near the edges. Spine does show some cracking and chipping/loss of paper that is common (See Photo). Back of the jacket is pretty clean with only light wear.
Stereo Scranton Record and Olive colored Capitol inner sleeve (which believe it or not came with some Butcher Covers as they were leftovers from the previous year) included. Record has not been play graded but a conservative grade would be G to F .Trunk Slick is included with wrinkles and tears (see photos). This cover is being sold "as is" so please look at the photos carefully.
This is a great cover that won't break the bank for that special somebody who loves The Beatles and really wants a rare Stereo cover but doesn't want to have to spend over $1200 or more..
Please note: the John Lennon T-Shirt is not part of this auction but merely used for this as a decorative backdrop.
