BEACH BOYS Surfin' Safari QRP Analogue Productions Mono Test Pressing Vinyl LP
Beach Boys - Surfin' Safari (Analogue Productions)
2013 test pressing of 200-gram mono reissue LP issued by Analogue Productions (catalog number APP-058).
This test pressing was made by Quality Record Productions, and has a QRP test pressing label on side one. The side one label and the front cover both have info stickers affixed to them.
The matrix etchings on this July 2013 test pressing differ slightly from the released version AP issued in 2014. Part of the reason for this delay might be explained by the notes on the cover of this LP, which were hand written by engineer Mark Linett. Linett was responsible for remixing numerous records from the Beach Boys catalog, and his notes indicate some clicks and ticks in the recording.
This is a unique opportunity to own a Beach Boys test pressing from the collection of Mark Linett! Although there might be very minor flaws in the sound of this test pressing, they are in the recording itself not the disc. Visually it is close to near-mint condition.
