Description
Cult (!) Cult (!) Cult (!). Original first pressings from 1980 have sold on eBay for $4,189 + $3,750 + $2,938 + $2,901 + $2,800. This is the original second pressing which was also released in 1980. Issued on their own label 'Bad Brain' records. Born with tan/beige labels and red ink (see scan). Usually this second pressing was issued without a cover. Only some of them have PRANK PRODUCTIONS rubber-stamped on the plain white sleeve (see scan). eBay prices for this second pressing: $327 + $293 + $282 + $255 + $248 + $247. The first Bad Brains 7” is one of the first true American hardcore records and already shows most of the band’s ingenuity. A side is great driving HC with anger, feeling and melodies. B side has a much stronger reggae feeling, but other than their later reggae songs, this still is solidly based in punk. Classic. [9]

Diese allererste Single hat eigentlich schon alles, was auch die späteren Sachen auszeichnet - Drive, Feeling und Melodie. Der Titelsong ist ein tolles, ausgerastetes HC-Stück, die B-Seite hat einen starken Reggaetouch, aber es ist (anders als bei den späteren Reggae-Sachen) immer noch ein sehr starker Punk-Einfluß zu spüren. Sehr gut.

Mailing / Versand: all records will be sent in plain white 7“ sleeves outside of the picture sleeves to avoid any seam splits (alle Platten werden in einer neutralen weißen 7“ Hülle außerhalb des Plattencovers verschickt, um Beschädigungen am Originalcover zu vermeiden). All records will be shipped in special record mailers. Two cardboard paddings (the best) will be used to avoid bending. Ebenso werden alle Platten entsprechend stabil in speziellen Schallplatten-Versandkartons mit zwei dicken Pappkartons verpackt.
Payment / Bezahlung: via PayPal. All orders which exceed a value of £20 or €25 will only be sent by registered mail. This requires the buyer to pay an additional of £2 or €2,50.
