Description
For Sale - Vinyl LP Record by Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come The album is titled " Journey "
This record was purchased by me on release around 1974. I used a Phillips 212-A Turntable with a Grado cartridge and I always handle my records with the thumb and index finger method (no edge pinching) I use the Diskwasher method of preening the dust off the record at all plays and flips per side. Kept in a smoke free, pet free household.
I did a radio show back in the day and was exposed to a lot of music, if I wasn't on the air, I was listening to the radio. The Station was a local College station and another was a user supported independent radio station. DJ's competed on who could find the best music and many records were ordered from out of the local market.
Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come UK experimental progressive rock band fronted by Arthur Brown, with Andrew Dalby as core composer on their three studio albums. They were born out of the remnants of The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown. Members: Andy Dalby, Arthur Brown, Goodge Harris, Julian Paul Brown, Phil Curtis, Rob Tait, Slim Steer, Victor Peraino
Arthur Brown quickly earned a reputation for outlandish performances, which included the use of a burning metal helmet, that led to occasional mishaps, such as during an early appearance at the Windsor Festival in 1967, where he wore a colander on his head soaked in methanol. The fuel poured over his head by accident and caught fire; a bystander doused the flames by pouring beer on Brown's head, preventing any serious injury. The flaming head then became an Arthur Brown signature.
On occasion he also stripped naked while performing, most notably at the Palermo Pop 70 Festival in Sicily, Italy, July 1970, where he was arrested and deported. He was also notable for the extreme make-up he wore onstage, which would later be reflected in the stage acts of Alice Cooper and Kiss. He was also famed for his powerful operatic baritone voice and his high pitched screams.
By 1968, the debut album, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown became a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. Produced by The Who's manager Kit Lambert, and executive-produced by Pete Townshend on Track Records, the label begun by Lambert and Chris Stamp, it spun off an equally surprising hit single, "Fire", and contained a version of "I Put a Spell on You" by Screaming Jay Hawkins, a similarly bizarre showman. "Fire" sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. The song has since seen its opening line "I am the God of Hellfire" sampled in numerous other places, most notably in The Prodigy's 1992 rave anthem "Fire".

One thing I ask that you consider, you are buying this record from the original owner and I took good care and I know where this record has been played.
I do rely on good pictures but I have yet to figure out how to show images in micro detail of the grooves. All my pictures are reflecting the fabric cube that I take the pictures in and that makes the weird reflections on the vinyl. Mainly if you look in the runout section you can see how clean they are. The reason I do not list returns is I only have one copy of the record and so if I had many copies sure I could offer returns. So please study closely and consider all aspects of this offering. I do promise your satisfaction if you contact me with your concerns, I am sure we can work something out together.
If you are buying something from my store, then we are much alike and value the same things, as I sell based on my hobbies and interests. Please contact me with any questions!
