Description

 

 Art Pepper Quartet     Tampa RS101  mono  "Black and silver" deep groove label with inserts included.   THIS IS THE ORIGINAL ISSUE, NOT THE LATER PINK LABEL.

"Black and silver" label and deep groove both sides. Record is "Flat Edge".   Cover has no address.  Cover is laminated without printing on spine.  Two inserts are included.  They are transcriptions of Pepper's solos on "Beseme Mucho" and "I Surrender Dear".  These came with the record and are mentioned on the back cover.    

 Record looks VG++.  Record plays very nicely, mostly VG++ with some VG+ light surface noise on quiet passages which is probably due to pressing quality. No distortion or heavy repetitive scratches.  Few very light scuffs on Side 1 and a light 1/2 scratch on "Diane" which ticks twice below level of music.  Record is bright and shiny and grooves do not look gray or heavily worn.

Cover is VG+

   Front cover looks really nice and clean. It is very glossy and bright and has very light, if any wear.  Bottonm seam is split all the way across and is taped about 9 inches.  Spine is intact but missing about 1 inch of laminate near the middle.  Top seam is split 2 1/2 inches at the spine.   Rest of top seam is intact but the whole seam is taped.   Tiny spots of heavy wear at the corners but thecorners are sharp and tight.  The back cover has light to moderate wear, some staining at the spine and tape from the top and bottom seam repairs. Solo Transcription inserts are M-. with some slight fading.

 My highest grade is M- and I rarely grade 50s or 60s records M-. Records are graded visually using the Goldmine system. M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG- etc. I play grade any potential problem areas.  I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. You will be satisfied.  No hassles.
