Art Pepper PLUS ELEVEN Analogue Productions 2lp 45RPM SEALED/MINT! #0878 - Most folks into jazz records are very well aware of Rudy Van Gelder. If you are NOT familiar with the GREAT Roy DuNann's engineering work, this is the perfect place to start (Way Out West by Sonny Rollins is also a well-known DuNann record). One of my all-time favorite LPs, with terrific solos, phenomenal ensemble work and GREAT GREAT sonics: instrumental transparency and jump out of your seat dynamics.

ABOUT 45 RPM PRESSINGS While some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors, usually leading to certain compromises, when pressing at 33 1/3. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape.
