ANTOINE MALOUF & FADIL SHAHIN "Haji Baba - Middle Eastern Music" LP (MEA 1009, 1960s)

Here is an interesting private press Arabic LP from the 1960s by Lebanese Antoine Malouf and Jordanian Fadil Shahin, backed by Assyrian-American kanoon player Ishmaiel and percussionist Vincent Delgado. Internet research reveals that these men played together in the 1960s in some of the first belly dancing clubs on the west coast of the USA, so I'm assuming that this was from around that time. It looks about that old. The titles, followed by their main performer, are as follows:

5. Longa, Turkish Musical - Instrumental
6. Zanouba - singer: F. Shahin
7. Oud Solo (Rasd Taqseem) - performer: A. Malouf
8. The Wheat Song (El Kamh) - singer: A. Malouf

Condition: Vinyl ranges from VG+ to VG, depending on the passage. I played the whole thing and heard occasional surface noise, but there were no skips or major wear. Probably could use a good cleaning (I'm out of fluid for my Discwasher D4 system, or I'd have done it myself). For a record that's probably 40+ years old, it's not too bad. The sleeve VG+. Quite nice; no rips, tears, or noticeable ringwear.
