ANDREW HILL – JUDGMENT!

(USA BLUE NOTE BLP4159 – 1964 MONO PRESSING)

 

Avant/Bop classic, featuring Bobby Hutcherson, Richard Davis and Elvin Jones; this is one of Andrew Hill’s finest!

 

Original Deep Groove Mono 1964 first pressing, featuring the Van Gelder ‘Ear’ logo on the runout grooves, together with hand written catalogue matrices, and the word ‘Vangelder’ machine stamped.

Cover = VG- (Cover intact, slight seam splits, some wear on spine. Slight creasing top and bottom left corners of cover. Front cover in very acceptable condition. Back cover ensures the VG- rating due to Sellotape residue and discolouration on three sides; small name is written bottom lower right. British 'Mecolico' royalty stamp affixed as well)

 

Record = VG+/EX- (Lovely sheen! Slight hairlines. Plays exceptionally well. Nothing untoward here!)

 

Blue Note labels in very good condition, with some discolouration.The original “25 years Blue Note” inner sleeve is present with a then contemporary review of this album pasted on from the UK ‘Gramophone’ magazine in 1964.
