BLUE NOTE MONO VINYL FIRST PRESSING!
Seldom seen in UK auctions (especially in this condition) is a beautiful FIRST MONO PRESSING of Andrew Hill's stunning debut album for Blue Note, Black Fire (Blue Note BLP 4151). All first pressing characteristics are present, as per the Discogs link below: Plastylite 'ear' P symbol and VAN GELDER are stamped in the dead wax on both sides, with NEW YORK USA labels. I have fully play-tested the vinyl, so my grading is based on how the record actually sounds, as well as how it looks.
Vinyl is graded in overall Excellent condition - visually there are a few light marks over tracks 3-4 on side 2 which lead to a small amount of light crackle during quieter spots on these two tracks and take the grading of that side down to Very Good++, but the rest of the album plays through with a nice quiet soundstage. Having played the album in full, it also sounds phenomenally punchy and loud throughout, with lots of solo space & clarity for what is an absolute dream team of monster soloists who sound like they are in the room with you!
The laminated, dimpled cover is very strictly graded in Very Good++ condition - front cover is solid Excellent, but overall grade just brought down by a couple of blemishes in the corners, and a small (1cm) tear in the lower right back corner (see photos).

Note that I separate the vinyl from the outer sleeve for postage to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me, and in the way I'd like to receive them.
