Description
BOBBY SWANSON & his Sonics: Rockin' Little Eskimo/The Ballad Of Angel; Igloo 1003 (label was listed as being based in Anchorage, Alaska), original from 1959. Bobby is from the Denver, Colorado area – where this was found.
KILLER ROCKABILLY with plenty of echo and 2 twangy guitar solos that get Bobby to whoopin' - this can be found on a dozen or more comps – it is THAT Rockin'!
Original with run-out stamp of Sheldon (Chicago) pressing/mastering, NOTE that this label font has serifs on the black lettering, and is on slightly thinner vinyl than a version with block lettering. Identical run-off etchings on both versions, and unknown chronology. I'm just surprised that there were 2 pressings + I saw a pic of a blue label promo!
VG condition, looks VG- and plays more like VG+. Teen death ballad flip. Promo label punch did not go all the way through
