Description
Here’s a very rare Beatles album! This is an authentic stereo pressing of “Introducing the Beatles” on the VeeJay label, number SR 1062 from 1964. This album went out of print after a year due to legal action taken by Capitol records. Since that time, many counterfeit copies of this album were made, most having the “Stereophonic” banner across the top of the cover. However, these copies do not play in stereo at all. This copy has all the markings of an original stereo pressing- “stereo” is printed on the labels, both lines of print at the center of the label are above the spindle hole, the album plays with great fidelity and in true stereo, the trail-offs measure 7/8”, and there is a delta symbol and “MR” in a circle etched in the trail-off. The flaps that construct the cover are a quarter-inch long. Most original pressings of this album were mono- very few authentic stereo copies were manufactured. This copy is version two (Ask Me Why and Please Please Me) with brackets and color-band logo. The vinyl grades a shiny VG+, plays with a few moderate clicks here and there. There is a name lightly written in the yellow portion of the color band on one label (see photo). The cover is in very nice shape, very light ringwear, no seam splits, just a small number written in ball-point on the back. Very rare album!! INTERNATIONAL BIDS WELCOME.
