LP.  Colonna Sonora Originale (O.ST.) 100.000 Ladrones come indicato solo nel lato frontale della copertina - as written only in the front cover. In realtà dopo lunghe ricerche non sono riuscito a trovare niente su questo presunto film. Pertanto, a parte una mia pur sempre possibile svista, le possibilità sono due : o è una partitura per un film mai ultimato oppure si tratta di una sonorizzazione da eventualmente essere utilizzata per il cinema. Infine va detto che questo album uscì nello stesso anno in Gran Bretagna, sempre per la Polydor (2489 034 per la serie Circle of Sound) col titolo "Laugh! Laugh!", con copertina del tutto differente, senza alcun accenno a una colonna sonora e con la stessa identica track list di questo 33 giri / Actually after long research I haven't been able to find anything about this supposed film. Therefore, apart from my possible oversight, there are two possibilities: either it's a score for an uncompleted movie or a sound library for possible cinematic uses. Finally it must be said that the album was released in the same year in Britain for Polydor label (2489 034 - series Circle of Sound) under the title "Laugh! Laugh!", with a completely different artcover, without any reference to a soundtrack and with the exact same track list of this LP.

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musiche composte, arrangiate e dirette da Augusto Algueró. 15 brani che salvo poche eccezioni hanno in comune una forte ritmicità, l’utilizzazione di un formidabile coro con una voce solista d’eccezione anche se non accreditata nelle note dell’album : la cantante soul Madeline Bell, all’epoca voce del gruppo Blue Mink, e la presenza costante di un ottima sezione fiati. Subito una grande partenza: "Laugh, Laugh" (a1) dove insieme al pulsante riff del basso una voce maschile ed una femminile si scambiano alcune parole per successivamente cantare in Inglese con ottimi timbri soul accompagnati da un'impetuosa dinamica sonora guidata da trombe, sassofoni e altri fiati, con un ottimo drumming e qualche bel intervento dell’organo, il tutto venato di gustoso funk. "Stay with Me Forever" (a3) è una ballata romantica magnificamente cantata da Medeline Bell (davvero brava!) con languidi suoni jazz e ariosi interventi dell'intera orchestra. Ottimo funky sound in "Discotheque" (a2) così come in "Tartufo" (a6) con interessante presenza della chitarra. Ed ancora funk & soul in "Great Expectation" (a2) interpretata in Inglese dalla solita cantante mentre basso e batteria fanno salire il ritmo. "Amor en un Yate" (b4) è una particolare bossa con romantiche sonorità espresse in un lungo assolo dal sax tenore. "Stay with Me Forever" (b6) è un'altra splendida bossa con frequenti "breaks" e tessuto sonoro percussivo. Flauto, chitarra e batteria giocano fra loro prima dell’entrata in campo dell’orchestra.

Notes : music composed, arranged and directed by Augusto Algueró. 15 tracks that with few exceptions have in common a strong rhythm, the use of a terrific chorus with an outstanding lead vocals although uncredited in the liner notes of the album: soul singer Madeline Bell, at that time voice of the group Blue Mink, and the constant presence of a great brass section. Just a superb start, "Laugh, Laugh" (a1) wherein along with the pulsing bass riff a male and a female voice exchange a few words and then sing in English with excellent soul tones accompanied by wild sound dynamics led by trumpets, saxophones and other wind instruments, with a great drumming and some nice organ variation, all tinged with tasty funk. "Stay with Me Forever" (a3) is a romantic ballad magnificently sung by the truly gifted Medeline Bell with smooth jazz sonorities and airy entrance of orchestra. Great funky sound in "Discotheque" (a2) as well as in "Tartufo" (a6) with interesting presence of the guitar. Again funk & soul in "Great Expectation" (a2) performed in English from the same singer while bass and drums support the rhythm. "Amor en un Yate" (b4) is a special bossa from the romantic sound expressed in a long tenor sax solo. "Stay with Me Forever" (b6) is another splendid bossa with frequent breaks and percussive sound texture. Flute, guitar and drums play each other before the entry of orchestra.
