Asgard
" Tradition & Renouveau "
1978, Warner Brothers FLP-56508, Original issue 1st pressing Canada
Not the British Asgard from the early 70's nor the neo-prog Italian outfit of the same name from the 90's, this Asgard was a trio based in France playing mainly acoustic folk-rock not unlike countrymen Malicorne.
On "Tradition & Renouveau" ("Tradition & Renewal"), Asgard's second and last LP, the trio add synthesizers courtesy of keyboardist Guy Printemps, escalatiing their gorgeous sound even higher into solid progressive territory.
Rare and coveted folk rock classic, but genuinely hard-to-find
