Howdy folks and folkettes this is an auction for an original mono 1957 1st pressing of the Art Pepper album Modern Art on Intro records (ILP 606). This is the original flat edge maroon label pressing that is probably among the rarest of all 1950's jazz records. The cover is in VG+/NM- condition with VERY little wear (mostly just some edge wear mostly on the far right bottom corner). I would say it's probably closer to NM- especially when considering the age and rarity but for the sake of the gem loop crazies out there I'll just say its VG+. The record itself is VG+ with some very light scratches that are only really visible in a harsh light. It has been tested all the way through on my own Rega Planar 9 (which picks up pretty much every imperfection of any record) and it plays beautifully. The two intro tracks on both sides have a bit of very low surface noise at times, while the all others play with extremely little to no surface noise at all. I am confident that this is the best sounding Intro original you will ever hear (outside of a gem mint copy of course, which may or may not even exist) and if not, you can send it back for a full refund. This record is from my own personal collection and I hate to get rid of it but I need the money to pay a house deposit, so hopefully this finds a nice home in which someone will actually play it, not just horde it. The album will come inside a new rice paper sleeve, but I will include the original plain paper inner sleeve as well for those that want it (though I would recommend not storing such a rare record in just a paper sleeve).
