Description
WOW! ANDY WARHOL'S INDEX (BOOK) RANDOM HOUSE, NY by Andy Warhol with The Assistance Of Stephen Shore. At about 70 pages, it's value as a piece of 1960's New York pop memorabilia is immeasurable. Expert printed, bound and dye cut -- manufactured in Japan.
This POP-ART book from Andy includes many pages of thick litho b&w and color (and spot color) illustrations, photographs, pop-ups, fold outs, a balloon, a geographic shape attached to a string, a pop-up color castle, perforated Andy Warhol labels, a pop-up can of tomato sauce (!), and best-of-all:
An UNPLAYED flexi-disc 7" vinyl single /picture disc with Lou Reed over Nico. This has NEVER BEEN PLAYED nor removed from the spine of the book (See pics).
This is the real deal, a 52-year old NY 1967 stated FIRST PRINTING. Cover and back are in silver metallic refection boards and black card covers.
Edges very lightly worn. Binding firm and complete:
Details: -Red accordion (miraculously) is attached and works!
-Castle pop-up is attached, complete and fully functioning. -"Chelsea Girls" paper wheel is complete. - ALL EIGHT rectangular perforated tear offs are present (excuse an earlier description where I erroneously said that "2 of the 10" were missing, I misspoke).
-The silver latex balloon that has deteriorated over 52 years and stuck two of the book’s pages together (a copy with an intact balloon is exceedingly, impossibly rare). - The geodesic dome (dodecahedron) is complete.
They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself. -Andy Warhol
