Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is a very rare original UK stereo copy of the Amazing Blondel first album called 'The Amazing Blondel and a few faces' on the Bell label, numbered SBLL 131, a record dating from 1970.
The laminated cover is in great condition for the age, with some minor corner bumping, and some light edgewise creases and some of the minorest turning of the opening edge. Generally though this is without any major fault and would certainly please the most fastidious collector (see my photo, the cover is so brilliant it was difficult to get a good picture because it reflected the light so much - fantastic!). The record is stored in, and will be shipped with, an acetate protective cover.
The original unlined inner bag is present and in excellent condition. The record is stored in, and will be shipped with, a new lined inner.
The vinyl is standout, bright, clean and the only fault I could find examining the surface under strong edgewise lighting was one purely cosmetic scuff. The labels likewise are devoid of any obvious spindle hole wear. Overall the record itself has a 'new' feel about it and is very pleasing. Any collector would desire a copy as good as this.
Sonically, it sounds great on the Linn and plays without obvious surface noise. This one clearly hasn't seen much play. I've actually had this over 12 years and it hasn't been played all the way through yet.

It is offered at no reserve and a low opening bid price considering the rarity of this original Bell pressing..
