Description
This lot contains nine 10-inch 78 RPM records by Ella Fitzgerald, all in the jazz and swing genre, and all on the Decca label. Three of them - the first two and the last one - are considered "hot" enough for inclusion in Brian Rust's iconic "Hot Jazz Discography." And, to be fair, the others all seem to have been released after Brian Rust's cutoff date of 1942.
All nine are shown in the first picture, then in pairs or individually, both sides, in the following order.

Decca # 28671 - "Careless" and "Blue Lou" by Ella Fitzgerald
Decca # 24708 - "A New Shade of Blues" and "Crying" by Ella Fitzgerald with Sonny Burke and his Orchestra
Decca # 24529 - "To Make a Mistake Is Human" and "In My Dreams" by Ella Fitzgerald
Decca # 18633 - "And Her Tears Flowed Like Wine" and "Confessin' (That I Love You)" by Ella Fitzgerald with the Song Spinners and Johnny Long and his Orchestra
Decca # 18587 - "Cow-Cow Boogie" by the Ink Spots and Ella Fitzgerald; and "When My Sugar Walks Down the Street" by Ella Fitzgerald and her Famous Orchestra
Decca # 23356 - "I'm Making Believe" and "Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall" by the Ink Spots and Ella Fitzgerald
Decca # 2148 - "I Found My Yellow Basket" and "Ella" by Chick Webb and his Orchestra, with vocal chorus by Ella Fitzgerald on the former and by Ella Fitzgerald and Taft Jordan on the latter.
Visually, the records fall broadly within or close to the VG+ range, still nice and shiny and not a lot of visible surface wear of any great significance. If I had to rank them (which I don't), I'd say both sides of "Careless" and "A New Shade of Blues" should probably be bumped up to EX, while "I'm Thrilled" and "Cow-Cow Boogie" both have enough wear on both sides to be downgraded to VG. Other that that, they all play through without any skips or jumps on my Audio-Technica turntable, and mostly just typical light background noise, with some scattered clicks or pops or passages of swishing or ticking. Because of variations in tracking ability, filtering technology and needle weights, I can offer no guarantees as to how well they will play on your equipment. Please also check the pictures for any label damage or inscriptions or stickers.
Also included are the Decca sleeves shown in the pictures, but they are chipped, creased and torn and don't add to the value.
