You're looking at a smorgasbord or Texas music from the 1980s! Seven albums in all, features tunes from 42 different bands. This is the era when the South by Southwest Music Festival was founded and new sounds were influencing musicians. This was during the age of big hair, Timbuk 3, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Fabulous Thunderbirds (and other dozens of other Austin bands).
All LPs are in excellent condition with gently played vinyl. The sleeves are in very good condition apart from a cut corner of one of the Glitch Samplers and a notch in the Deep Ellum promo album (see photos for details). These haven't been played at all in more than 25 years, stored in climate controlled environments.
Three rare Glitch Sampler compilation albums capture a vital slice of that vibrant experimental mid-80s music scene in Austin, Texas. These albums feature a great sampling of the sound in the college town's music clubs -- from the legendary Sixth Street to the Drag and other venues.
Among the standouts in these tracks, you'll discover a rare early recording by Daniel Johnston and a catchy ditty featuring Kris McKay in her first band, Hundredth Monkey.
A fourth compilation album records Dallas' vibrant Deep Ellum club scene, include the band the New Bohemians which launch the career of Edie Brickell!

Two more albums feature Austin's hippie jam rockers and Cajun Zydeco scenes.
Shiva's Head Band, Austin's premier psychedelic reggae rockers, formed in 1967 and was still going strong in 1983 when they released their fourth and final album, "In the Primo of Life." They were the house band at the infamous Vulcan Gas Company club and were the first band to perform in the Armadillo World Headquarters, which members helped establish.
Original members still plugging away at the time of this recording included fiddler/lead singer Spencer Perskin, his wife Susan Perskin on vocals and keyboard, and keyboardist Shawn Siegel. They were joined by Krank Kammerdiener on bass, Sativa Perskin Esper on backing vox, Bobby Threadgill on congas/bongos, Steve Whitfield on drums, Shawn Siegel on piano, and several guest performers joining in with cello, trumpet, sax and more backing vox.
It's a very laid-back, cool album. (The first track is about smokin' ganja by the riverside. So chill.)
The final album is Ponty Bone and the Squeezetones "My, My, Look at This." Ponty, originally from San Antonio, learned accordion starting at age five. He took his talents to Austin where he teamed up with Joe Ely for a time before forming his own band in the mid-1980s. 
His style incorporates Austin's blues, San Antonio's conjunto, New Orlean's cajun, Central Texas polkas, reggae, and even Russian gypsy dance sounds. This platter is a party all by itself!
And, as a special bonus, it's signed by Ponty Bone himself on the back of the sleeve!!!!
