Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. VERY RARE 1970 Advanced Release PROMOTIONAL ...
Gotten VERY scarce this BRITISH UNDERGROUND rock/folk/prog adventure from the U.K.
Some albums are classic journeyman's efforts, the work of someone who might have gained notice with other bands; thus Andrew Leigh's one-off solo effort Magician, recorded with a powerful backing band in prime era Spooky Tooth meeting with ex-Blossom Toes members Brian Godding (guitars) and Kevin Weslake (bass) ...Blossom Toes of course were prime UK freakbeat/Mod/Psych legends issuing "We Are Ever So Clean" and "IF Only For A Moment.")
Despite the cover art and swirl of flutes helping kick things off, Magician is less acid folk/prog whimsy and more an overview of a lot of things in the year of its release, with a little electric bite here and there but otherwise aiming for gentler twang and rough-and-ready acoustic chug.
There's stately late-Beatles pop-craft via "Get Myself Together" (one of two songs from Blossom Toes" and fellow pro Kevin Westlake), a bit of moody folk-rock with "Windy Baker Street," easygoing rural-tinged rambles like "Solitaire" and "Leaving Song," and more besides just those.
The "FAN-MAN" says: "Throughout, the echoes of people like Bob Dylan, the Band, the Byrds, Free, and many others can be heard, all slotting into what would be Leigh's own career path well and showing that if his work wasn't deathless it was pleasant listening with a bit of flair. Leigh's liner notes are a fun read, the voice of someone who explored a path, then decided on a new one in later years, before returning to music on a casual for-the-heck-of-it basis -- not a bad place to be."

CONDITION: The cover: rated: near "EX" (excellent) with PROMOTIONAL STICKER on bottom left. No more than very light wear in a couple of places, overall the cardboard cover is very strong and still has nice colors. There are no solid seams, no faded areas, no bends, no writing ...
The vinyl: Highly shiny surfaces, 48 years of age and very solid, rated: M- a TOP COPY playing with no issues. The SIRE labels are clean.
