1987 Blue Note Dexter Gordon Quintet: ?Gettin' Around featuring Bobby Hutcherson. Near Mint 32 year old Audiophile playback lp. As a record seller and collector, and very much a lover of jazz, I would audition different pressings and keep the best ones of different titles. As a mature DMM, this is them practicing their craft of direct transfer at its best, where the range is just wider than the earlier lps, if you have the cartridge to extract that sound. The cymbal and high vibes sound is just outstanding. The original tapes as referred to on the rear as being used here (i.e. not a copy tape or a digital transfer) were far fresher then than they have been for the recent issues by the big audiophile boys, and tape does not last forever, so there is a lot of repair work going in to recent issues. This is not the case here, with 20 not 50 year old tapes to work with. . We pack carefully.
