Description: A 1973 record album from GE's Silicone Products Division. "Silicones" starred Ron Young, Paul Eichel and Joy Garrett, a singer who did a lot of 70s television. To me, this is the Holy Grail of industrial/product musicals. It also seems to be one of the most talked about due to much exposure on Irwin Chusid's landmark "Incorrect Music Hour", a song featured on 2003's 365 Days Project, and other tracks appearing on various CD compilations throughout the country.
The thing is, this musical DOES deserve all the attention it can get, as it is absolutely delightful! Extremely well written, hilarious, addicting, and performed to perfection. The best!!!
The back of this record says "Including the original songs and sketches from the film: Love Is The Answer" (!?!?) directed by Michael Glyn and produced by David Gordon, the same producer of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire? There's no other info on IMDB but images of the film on the record look like a man and a woman taking a carriage ride through a graveyard, kissing several times, and sitting on lawn chairs talking in a field. What is going on here?!? Other photos on the record dust jacket look like stage actors, and people having dinner who attended the 1973 GE convention. Clues anyone????
