SUPER RARE as a advance release WHITE LABEL PROMOTIONAL 2XLP 1970 original in thick gatefold sleeve ...this historic album pairs Ginger Baker & Jack bruce from CREAM with the hammond organist Graham bond along with legendary guitarist John mcLaughlin ... terrific keystone recording sessions here, the U.K. single Lp issues go for many dollars, here both Lp's were released in the USA some 38++ years ago and hard to find/rare but as a white label promo?? extinct ....

Old white label promotional Lp's are known for the best sound as they were the first to get pressed from the freshly cut master. Manufactured in very limited numbers to be sent out to select radio stations and publications for music review, they are widely sought and collected so many years later ... and so many years later harder than ever to get with most copies being in private collections...

Graham Bond's first album was issued by Warner Bros in 1970 and contains several great tracks from early Organization years. The first forty minutes of original vinyl was recorded in Olympic Studio 1966 and includes the Bond's own tracks + Green Onions. Last thirty minutes are big surprise, because they contain three true authentic tracks from 1963. "Doxy" is the Sonny Rollins track, "Ho Ho Country Kickin' Blues" by Jack Bruce and "The Grass is Greener" (!) by Bond & McLaughlin composers coupled. Great album from this artist with tragic life finished with cruel death. Sad destiny

Certainly solid work from Graham Bond -- working here with an all-star lineup who really make the record cook nicely! The set features some of Bond's best contemporaries -- all players who, like him, had started out in simpler mod 60s modes, but had really matured strongly by the time of this date -- moving into a range of complicated jazz and rockish expressions in their own music, but uniting here with Graham for a set that's still got a nice old school groove! In a time when some of the groups were getting a bit excessive, this album's nicely restrained -- shortish tracks that focus strongly on tight hooks and soulful rhythms, but all in ways that still sound plenty adventurous. Bond plays Hammond organ and sings, and other guests include Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Dick Heckstall-Smith, and John McLaughlin -- on titles that include "Can't Stand It", "Walkin In The Park", "Long Legged Baby", "Doxy", "The Grass Is Greener", "It's Not Goodbye", "Neighbor Neighbor", and "Springtime In The City".

CONDITION: The thick gatefold cover is "VG++" very solid, sharp, very small shelf wear at top center just a little only starting, otherwise stiff and clean, been in good hands and VERY collectible!
