RARE and CLEAN... ORIGINAL 1970 first pressing on the elite collected DERAM RECORDS label ...of one of the unsung British underground heavies ..."electric rock" to say the least...
Right off the first track grabs you -- absolutely crazy - "Free To Be Stoned" contains some of the most wild, raw blues "distortion" guitar riffing and flipped-out half screamed, half manic vocals repeating: "I just wanna beeeee stoned for the rest of my natural life...!" ... "When i'm stoned everything seems to turn out right.." ...catch the direction? Sounds like an intense track and you bet the listener is in for quite a ride...Overall, a very blues orientated Lp, much moreso than their previous eastern tripping debut album "A=mc2"....
The sound quality is typical of albums from this period, solid bass, fairly clear, not cluttered and over-produced, not bad at all. Then comes a cool groove in the ten minute jam called "After Hours" having a bluesey tinkling keys intro that shuffles along nicely, injected by a fairly standard but groovy guitar solo, late-night smoky club atmosphere. Side two, the first track, "In Another Way" includes a nice guitar solo. "Best Suit", the longest track on side two at ten minutes, is very similar to "Free to be Stoned" , half-spoken/screeched vocals about a lost hat (??), though less manic but just as raw and settles into bluesey guitar soloing and riffing. The final track "Death, The Lover" has a fantastic plodding beat and manic intense vocals that drives on for seven minutes. All the tracks sound like they are done very tongue-in-cheek and make "interesting" listening - the band's philosophy is summed up thus on the reverse of the sleeve: "We are what we are and nobody can change us, because of this we have had to learn to swallow the aches of humiliation, perhaps now our exile is over." ...Free to be stoned, for their natural born lives ...a listening experience not to miss....

CONDITION: The cover is solid on all parts, CLEAN VG++ only a bit of small light shelf wear just starting = no split seams, no bends, no writing...collectible one that no one would want to kick out of their collection, unless of course the jams were too much for the neighbors next door...
The vinyl is all shiny both sides, near "EX" (excellent) play graded here: excellent with no audio distraction...both 'Deram' labels are clean
