Description

.PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us.  Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable.  We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback.   We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

[isdntekvideo] The 2nd Grassroots album, back before they became a famous top 40 AM radio act, and were one of the cool 'in' bands of the happening L.A. Sunset Strip, along with the Buffalo Springfield, Seeds, etc.

Released in the spring of 1967, Let's Live For Today was almost a musical throwback, steeped in (really good) electric-folk-rock & Beatles influences which was fairly routine at the time, but psychedelia was the "in" thing, but that's what makes it so appealing to listeners today. Listeners in 1967 were probably disappointed that there was nothing on the album with a dramatic 'advanced' sound but, the title track is a timeless 'killer' and everything else has very strong catchy melodies in a solid garage/folk-rock bag using a hard edge, all guitars up front, which allows it to stand quite well alongside rival releases by the Beau Brummels, the Cryan Shames, the Blue Things, et al. Most of the music here is derived from the P.F. Sloan/Steve Barri songwriting and production team, spiced with four surprisingly strong originals -- mostly drawn from the original demo tape that they submitted as the 13th Floor -- by the band members themselves. The Sloan-Barri numbers are smooth, Beatle-esque hook-laden rock tunes "Things I Should Have Said," "Is It Any Wonder," some of it with a garage band edge, and with elements of mild pop psychedelia ("Wake Up, Wake Up") occasionally manifesting themselves. Sloan and Barri's production gave the music a polish that had commercial without losing sight of the band's 'cool' sound and image. Tracks like the Beatles styled "Tip of My Tongue," really work well, and the production is great taking full advantage of stereo separation. Also surprising are the group originals, such as Entner and Bratton's "Beatin' Round the Bush" and Bratton's rocking "House of Stone," each of which is a match musically for most of the Sloan-Barri numbers. Admittedly, the lyrics on Sloan and Barri's songs are somewhat more sophisticated than those on most of the group originals, but the simpler words on the latter firm up this album's rock & roll credentials. All in all the first two Grassroots album exude in the coolness the band had developed as a popular act on the hip Sunset Strip scene along with The Byrds, Leaves, Love, etc
