ORIGINAL 1965 MONO first pressing in thick gatefold cover -- the very first FIVE AMERICANS album ...teen scene garage rockers from Texas...they had the sound down, well enough to hang around for several albums, with their first three being the ones to own...
Not sounding like melodic folkrock sound of the Beau Brummels, the 5 Americans came on the scene like tougher street kids who didn't give a damn about doing pointless covers (check 'Beau Brummels '66 to see what we mean). Real raw garage masterpieces are found scattered through here like 'It's a Crying Shame' for example. Yelping vocals, high-pitched Vox organ, and gritty guitars. There are also a few ballads for the mod/beat girls like 'I'm So Glad' with nice harmony backing vocals. The executives of the label in charge must have pushed to cleaned up their image with fancy suits, cleancut shirts and pastel slacks but if you listen close they were dirty Texas teens itching to rip it up. 'What'd I Say' has to be the most powerful tunes on the album ...of course, "I See The Light" their first 'hit' is a timeless frantic garage groover, but by mixing in beat-rock, mersey-beat, and some occasional pop-rock influences, I See the Light becomes an album you can sit through and enjoy both sides of.

CONDITION: The cover is a very thick gatefold rated at VG++ front cover and VG+ back cover having a little bit of shelf wear, not mint but still very collectible. The top right corner is lightly uneven, something you can feel more than see...otherwise strong orig colors, no split seams, no writing...
The vinyl is very clean "EX" (excellent)...looks instantly clean over both sides and play graded great (excellent) ... both HBR labels are clean
