A rare metal stamper disc (father disc) used to press the 1964 number 1 record, WORLD WITHOUT LOVE sung by PETER & GORDON (written by Paul McCartney). Comes with a provenance letter from the wife of a former senior manager at EMI who was given the disc
The metal stamper disc is the negative of the recording, so that when pressed into the vinyl, the vinyl would create the positive, playable version. There would be a separate metal stamper for each side of the vinyl record. This is the A-Side of the record ' WORLD WITHOUT LOVE' which topped the UK pop charts in 1964. The song was written by Paul McCartney when he was 16. The song is credited to Lennon-McCartney.
The disc is in great condition.
It would look great mounted into a frame for display.
