Description

Here's a Very SCARCE and ORIGINAL 1959 45 rpm Record of "LITTLE FORTY FORD" by Leon Smith. It looks to be the FIRST release by WILLAMETTE, Product of ORBIT SOUND COMPANY, in Eugene, Oregon. The numbers on it are "101-45-1" and "101-45-2."That looks like a first Record to me. This was a minor Pacific Nortthwest Hit. Soon after it became popular, EPIC records pressed it and released it Nationally! The Label Looks to Be MINT. I'm Calling the Condition MINT-, even though I can't see or hear anything really wrong with it. The Jacket is plain brown generic. I even played it and it plays GREAT! You would have a Very Hard time Ever Finding a nicer one. Leon Smith, is in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. In style, it sounds a LOT like Bo Diddley. Lots of records had that BEAT back then, including some Songs of Buddy Holly. Please See BOTH Pictures. It's a Real BEAUTY! It comes from a non-smoking home. You'll NEVER Find a Nicer One. The Lucky New Owner Pays $4.00 for Shipping with Delivery Confirmation. I am always happy to combine multiple wins to save you $ on shipping.  USA SHIPPING ONLY. However, if you live outside the USA and have an address within the USA for me to send it to, please email me and I'd be more then happy to arrange for you to bid. I Ship Everything...Cross Town or Cross Country. Thanks for understanding that.

Leon is honored to be included in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Early in his career he shared the stage with numerous legends such as Willie Nelson, Ferlin Husky, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, George Jones, Rose Maddox, Gene Vincent, Jerry Lee Lewis, Duane Eddy, Carl Dobkins Jr., Fats Domino, Little Richard, Neil Sedaka, Jimmy Clanton, Larry and Laurie Collins, The Fleetwoods, The Sneed Family and The Ventures to name a few.

Leon's 1959 hit single, Little 40 Ford, quickly rose to the top of the charts on the West Coast and allowed him to make his mark in rock 'n roll history. Little 40 Ford and many of his other recordings from that era can be found on the Willmette Label CD, Leon Smith 1958-1963.

His career began at the age of 5 and he has never been far from a guitar! His service in the Air Force and other career endeavors lead him away from music for a number of years. He started his music career again in 1997 and has been enthusiastically entertaining crowds ever since.

Today his shows combine the perfect blend of comedy, singing, guitar playing and with his special charismatic stage presence he can relate to any audience. His guitar style includes everything from Blues to Chet Atkins finger style picking. You can expect to hear oldies like White Sport Coat and toe tapping Cannon Ball Rag. From Merle Haggard to Buddy Holly to Ray Charles, there is something for everyone in his performances.
