A completely unknown and obscure Japanese release here. A compilation tape and a 68-page booklet set in a glossy, book-style package. Wide variety of music style played by the 12 Japanese artists/bands, some of which are pretty well known, incl. new wave, synthwave/pop, electro/techno wave, avant, acid/psych folk, prog, art rock... Contains 12 tracks by Morio Agata, Lion Merry(from the Morio Agata band, Jun Togawa & Yapoos, Metrofarce etc.), Screen/Koji Wakui(from Screen / Smart Lookin' Records), Miwako Saito, Metrofarce(as Yotaro Ito's solo project w/ Metrofarce members), Yuji Miyazaki, Goro Nakagawa, Daisy & the Let's Go's(as Nakano D-ji), Yoshio Tachikawa, Masayuki Qusumi(from Modern Hip), Susumu Isshiki & the Duck Soup, and Mikayo Shigeta(from The Tights). A few of them are some really good synth/new wave tunes with female vocals. Forgot which ones, but I think one or two artists besides Morio Agata also play the quality psych/acid folk stuff. The rare Metrofarce related materials are very good. They're the well-known '80s Japanese new wave band that appeared on the LLE label comp LP in their early days, as well as on the "Kodomotachi no City" comp LP in '86. "Tokyo 1 Dozen" is such an unknown release, but the entire tape is superb! A lot of great songs are on it. It was later reissued on CD sometime in the early '90s, with a different artwork and without most of the booklet contents, but the CD is also long out of print and hard to find. This is the super-rare, original tape & booklet set from 1986 that you don't see it up for sale very often. So, don't miss a chance to own this gem. The tape is in Mint condition. The sound quality is excellent. The glossy package is in a nice shape with just some very minor wear and the booklet is is also in a great condition except the back cover has some visible wear/wrinkles. Good luck bidding.
