I had trouble locating anyone who knew anything about this l.p. One guy gave me a rough idea of the value & all others never heard of it. Including two big time garage guys. Megarare ( rated a 3 out of 4 in Underground Sounds which would make it a $300 - $800 record. The band is The Apostles & the title is An Hour Of Prayer With The Apostles on a private label from 1966. Trust Me, there is nothing religious about this l.p. ! They were from New York City. ( Greenwich Village to be precise. ) Here's what Underground Sounds says: "Garage r & b covers, dual guitar, horns, mostly hot raveups." There are some r & b covers, tasty horns on a few tunes, fuzz on one tune, echoed surf guitar on a Link Wray cover, a jangly ballad...Tunes are: Out Of Sight, Jack The Ripper, You Really Got Me, Cathy, When You Walk In, Try Me, Louie,Louie, Walkin' The Dog, Summertime, Shop Around & What'd I Say. The cover is bad. I'd give it a vg minus rating. Seam splitting, clear tape, name on front & back cover, couple of rips, heavy wear, small hole through the front paste on cover but not through the jacket. Vinyl looks vg but plays mostly vg+ but vg++ on many songs. One song had a light but not distracting tick for several revolutions. Light surface in spots mostly noticeable between some songs.
