shuggie otis freedom flight original yellow label Epic LP. VG Vinyl shows some scuffs and hairline scratches but I play tested the LP and it sounds quite good. Nice and quiet during Freedom Flight. The main focus of albums like this is always the surface noise in quiet passages. For me, the heart of this LP was always Side 2, with the slow blues, Purple, and the 13 minute, classic late night stoner track, Freedom Flight. The songs on Side 1 are fine and the sound is excellent, but the real question is how about Side 2? Will there be a bunch of pops and clicks that will detract from the music or will it be pristine and beautiful, showing off the silence as well as the instrumentation to best effect. How much is a mint condition LP of Freedom Flight worth? Well, the result are in... Some minor surface noise in the first 30 seconds of Side 2 and another 30 second patch somewhere in Freedom Flight, but for the large majority of the side, it is indeed silent. Most of the record plays VG+. Some surface noise in between the tracks on Side 1, but, once the music starts, that all disappears.
Cover has an 8 inch split in the top but otherwise in decent shape. VG. No writing, marks or tape.
