rare ROY HAYNES QUARTET test pressing for the NEW JAZZ records release CRACKLIN'

ROY HAYNES quartet CRACKLIN'

a  TEST PRESSING

an EXCELLENT CONDITION copy that plays and sounds amazing

this is a very rare piece of JAZZ HISTORY as
TEST PRESSINGS were issued prior to the release of
a record so that the producers and artists could critique
the way the record sounded - usually only a few copies were
made, and once approved, the actual record would be
pressed based on the sound first heard on the test
pressing . . . they are extremely rare because they
actually pre-date 'first pressings' of releases

they were often in the hands of the producers and artists themselves . . .

together . . . a highlight is great tenor sax player BOOKER ERVIN with
his unique soulful and very advanced sound

ROY HAYNES had a long history in jazz and played with legends like
SABBY LEWIS frankie newton LESTER YOUNG luis russell CHARLIE PARKER

horace tapscott DIZZIE GILLESPIE and even JOHN COLTRANE

_______

condition :

an EXCELLENT CONDITION copy

the vinyl is clean and shiny with almost no signs of wear.  there is
some discoloration in spots, but this seems to have been a pressing
flaw that in no way interferes with the sound (test pressings were not
held up to the visual quality standards as actual releases, as they were
usually only listened to once and then discarded)

PLAY TESTED - plays and sounds wonderful with almost no noise
at all - just slight crackle in the really quiet parts.  sounds amazing

there are a small number of slight scuffs and marks, but none of these can be heard

an incredible find . . .
