*** Barrelhouse Piano Blues giant ***
From the collection of a dutch female collector who sadly passed away years ago. Her records where kept by a family member. She started buying Jazz in the early 30s and expanded her taste to Blues when the first pioneering reissues were released in the 50s. She worked as a translator and for her job she traveled to France, Germany, Italy, England...picking up records along the way.
1954 vinyl mini LP with a "at that time" unreleased recording session by Piano Blues giant Cripple Clarence Lofton. Lofton recorded for Paramount, Champion, Bluebird and a few other labels and had a cult following amonst Jazz fans. These top notch Piano solos were recorded in Chicago in 1939. Produced by Bill Grauer, Jr. and Orrin Keepnews founders of Riverside Records.
The cover art was done by Blues historian/writter Paul Oliver.
