Il Gruppo d'Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza "The Private Sea of Dreams" RCA Victor lsp3846, 1967. Lp EX; jacket EX (still in shrink!, one small seam split top center). *** Absolutely beautiful original copy of this avant garde masterwork. Il Gruppo are often regarded, along with Musica Elettronica Viva (with which they share members), as the "Italian AMM" due to their very adventurous approach to composition and sonic exploration. Members have become quite famous in their own rights, look at the players on this album: Ennio Morricone, Roland Kayn, Frederic Rzewski, Mario Bertoncini, Franco Evangelisti, John Heineman, Ivan Vandor, Jerry Rosen. This lp is in stunning shape -- it was sealed when I got it some years ago, and I've played it three or four times (I committed it to cdr, of course. Say, why hasn't anyone issued this on cd?). Just totally captivating work here, comes with my very HIGHEST recommendation! Necessary!
