The fantastic first album that already showed so much promise. This hardly sold as it was suffering from ill distribution and wrong classification in the shops. It is now extremely scarce even with the boxed logo especially in this great condition!!!
From Genesis to Revelation was issued in a black sleeve with its title scribed in gothic gold on the top lefthand side. With little else to go by, the record shops stacked the LP in the religious sections. Its initial sales tally was 650 copies. Once the band began achieving worldwide success, From Genesis to Revelation briefly dented the US charts in 1974, peaking at #170.
The band's name was omitted from the sleeve because Decca had recently discovered that an obscure American act was also calling itself Genesis and asked the band to consider changing its name to avoid confusion. The American "Genesis" in question was likely the LA-based group that released an LP called In The Beginning on the Mercury label in 1967.,or it may have been an even more obscure R&B band, also using the name Genesis, in Massachusetts.
Vinyl: EX. A splendid vinyl and not played much at all. There are only a couple very light hairlines visible under a strong light. I have listened to the entire LP and totally enjoyed it. The stereo seperation is beautiful and the depth of this recording is truly amazing!! There are NO clicks, jumps or ticks.
Sleeve: VG++to EX. A nice sleeve without any damage. Light laminate lift near the spine. The spine is fully legible. One small crease near the top right corner. A great above average sleeve.
Inner lyric sheet: EX+. This is the original inner lyric sheet in light red print. It is often missing and an artefact in its own right.
Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 45.00. Fees in England have gone up significantly (again) last April. To Russia and Italy I will have to insist on registered postage, whichever the price. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me and I usually end up having to pay more than I charged.

I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again.
