Recorded on June 16, 1954 in Los Angeles, this session features Zoot Sims on tenor, Stu Williamson on trumpet and vibes, Kenny Drew on piano, Ralph Pena on bass and Jimmy Pratt on drums. SIDE A: HOWDY PODNER and INDIAN SUMMER. SIDE B: TOOT NO. 2 and WHAT’S NEW. This LP is listed on the label as “Zoot Sims In Hollywood”. On the label is “Released by Prestige Records Co 446 W 50th St. N.Y.C.”” and on the liner notes is “Prestige Records Inc. 446 West 50th Street, New York 19, N.Y.” This is a MONO recording

I Have graded both the vinyl and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl is clean on both sides, but there is a hairline mark on Side A, Cut 1, which does not interfere with play. There is no sign of wear in or around the spindle hole and the vinyl retains its original luster. The record jacket is in excellent condition. There is some wear on the cover on the bottom and some discoloration on the liner notes. There is also some wear on the top seam. It just misses a M- rating, as does the vinyl.
