Description
Scarce and excellent vintage jazz LP featuring ZOOT SIMS – BOB BROOKMEYER OCTET on the UNITED ARTISTS label, from 1958.
Title is "Stretching Out." Catalog number is UAL 4023, mono pressing with deep groove.
Personnel are as follows: Zoot Sims – tenor sax; Bob Brookmeyer – valve trombone; Al Cohn – tenor and baritone saxes; Harry Edison – trumpet; Charlie Persip – drums; Hank Jones – piano; Eddie Jones – bass; Freddie Green – guitar.
Label is red with black text. Jacket is heavily laminated.

Jacket: Jacket is in nice overall shape with clean artwork, nice seams and spine. There is a bit of wear at the corners, and several are bumped. Reverse is also pretty nice, except that the original owner wrote initials "JHR" neatly in two places. Also a very light small yellow stain in center song title area. Flaws are all small ones, and I think most collectors will be fine with this jacket especially given the excellent condition of the vinyl and the desirable "cheesecake" art work on the front.
Vinyl: Vinyl is nice EX+ retains full brilliant gloss, appears to have been played a very small number of times and handled with care. The sound is excellent and the listening experience is very enjoyable. Labels are clean. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer sounding copy of this fine LP.
