Discovery DL 3015 — 10" mono LP on gorgeous red marble vinyl Condition
On a grading scale where NM is as good as it gets (factory pristine), this is a well-cared for LP with nice luster that's quite clean when viewed in good sunlight or indoor lighting, with but several small hairline scratches. There are no gouges or anything that causes skipping. Looks about VG+ when held close to a bright halogen light as only then are some more small hairlines apparent. The LP plays in better than VG condition, with a light to approaching a medium level of background crackle that does not overwhelm the music, as played on a sensitive system (top-of-line Basis turntable, Vector arm). The fully intact cover is in EX condition. Cleaner in appearance then the photo as the photo lighting overemphasizes the dirt scuffs and makes some scuff/dirt marks on the left side appear to be noticeable ring wear. The left side of the cover is perfectly flat without the raised ring-like mark that seems to be indicated in the photo.
Info From 1951, this is the rarest record in Zoot Sims' discography. This very cool red vinyl release has a cover with the yellow title details glued onto the grey cover, likely indicating an original edition.
