IF BIDDING FROM OUTSIDE THE UK THEN PLEASE NOTE THAT I USE EBAY'S GSP FOR POSTING. THESE COSTS CAN BE HIGH. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PAY THESE PRICES THEN PLEASE DO NOT BID. However I am willing to listen to requests to post outside of Ebay through signed-for and tracked. I would recommend using Ebay though as they cover taxes, customs lost items etc. Europe postings will cost £15 for a single item if I send them.
Unfortunately I need to cash in on some of my record collection to help fund my retirement so I would like to pass on these records to other people to share the enjoyment that I have had with the collection over the last 50 years.
For auction here is a UK copy of 'It Should've Been Me' by Zoot Money's Big Roll Band which, at the time, featured a very young Andy Summers later of The Police. It was released on the Columbia label 33SX 1734. It features some very interesting and very good Blues and Rhythm 'n' Blues. Run-out matrix numbers for this record are XAX 2874-1 G on side 1 and XAX 2875-1 G on side 2 I have a feeling that the 'G' indicates the first pressing but I am not sure. Also, to be honest, I don't think it sold a great deal anyway so maybe they all come with this.
The front-only laminated cover is in a decent condition. There are some light laminate creases and the opening edge is a little rough. There is also some edge and corner wear. The spine is solid and can be easily read. As can be seen there are NO stickers, NO tears and NO writing. It's not mint and it's not perfect but it still is a strong VG. I know that there are ways of cleaning up the covers where the laminate is as well but I will leave that to the winner to deal with.
The inner sleeve is in a VG+ condition and I think it's the original.
Looking at the vinyl on both sides it looks a fairly decent copy considering it's 54 years old. However there are some visible scratch marks which can easily be seen when held up to the light The labels are free of stickers and writing. There are several spindle marks on the labels.
Tracks:- Side 1 I'll go crazy Jump Back Along Came John Back Door Blues It Should've Been Me Sweet Little Rock And Roller
Side 2 My Wife Can't Cook Rags And Old Iron The Cat Feelin' Sad Bright Lights Big City Fina
I have played the vinyl through on both sides. It runs through the whole gamut of conditions to be honest. Side 1 track one starts off well but has a visible scratch which causes a jump (you can also feel the scratch). However progressing through both sides you get tracks with some clicks and some that sound great with hardly any interference. It does however play all the way through.
Audibly the music comes through very clearly and you should not be disappointed by the reproduction from that point of view although the jump is very annoying. It's a great Rhythm and Blues record. Don't expect a mint copy and you have to accept that it does jump at one point otherwise plese don't bid on this item.
For playback I use an Ortofon cartridge on a Technics SL1210MK2 through a Denon DRA 375RD amplifier to Wharfdale 3200 speakers.
I have started this off at £4.99 which is a fair start in my opinion.
Please bid with confidence as I have a 100% positive feedback rating.
I am willing to post multiple items abroad which will be tracked and signed-for. Payments for this method go direct through Paypal as Ebay's GSP does not cater for multiple item sales unfortunately.
I try to adhere as closely as possible to the Record Collector Magazine grading system which is shown below as a guide. I do add + and - to gradings for intermediate conditions. Any record described as 'Mint' will mean 'Unplayed'.
RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM

Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable Good (G) Te record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-fillerprice rating
