Description
This is an overall fine copy of a RARE mono promo version of the sole LP by L.A. psych-rock group the Zoo, released in 1968. Produced by Ed Cobb, who also did the honors for the Standells, the Chocolate Watch Band, and others, the LP's songs are tuneful and tight (all clock in at under three minutes), and some rock pretty hard. Lead guitarist Howard Leese would later find fame and fortune with the group Heart ("Crazy on You" etc.). The jacket has one notable flaw, a small (½") tear on the front cover from a sticker. It's otherwise in fine shape with a light bend in one corner, light scrunching and rubbing in the other corners, light staining/foxing on the back cover slick, a 1" tear (but no split) on the top seam, and a little light wear on the bottom seam -- overall VG+. See the photos for the visuals. There is a large promo sticker on the front cover. Visually, the disc has a few superficial scrapes and blemishes that do not affect play, and is otherwise clean with good gloss. It plays with light surface noise that is only audible between tracks -- EX.
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs.
