Description

This is a very rare early recording of Take Me Out to the Ball Game, which was written in 1908. The lyrics changed a bit in 1927, and this is undoubtedly the version with the song's original lyrics, as the record was made shortly after the song was written by vaudeville star Jack Norworth. According to information I found on the internet, early 1900s records were one-sided, with a sticker or other information affixed to the blank side. Such is the case with this wonderful 10" record by Zon-O-Phone. The label on the back has lots of information, primarily about patents and licensing. The last line on the label reads, "March 1, 1907 Universal Talking Machine Mfg. Co." Apparently the labels were printed within a year or two of the actual record's recording date, which would be consistent with the history of this song and Fred Lambert. The record is in good condition. No chips, very clean, no issues with the labels on either side. Please let  me know if you'd like more photos or information emailed to you, and thanks for looking!
