Description

This is an original UK copy of The Zombies debut album from 1965 Begin Here. Very scarcely seen for sale this one is in excellent overall condition.

                                                                       Record

I have graded the record Excellent. There are no scuffs or scratches, just a few light hairlines, and even these are only visible under

bright light. Many might even  give it an Ex + grade  which it is certainly nearer to but I`ll stick to a straight Excellent.

Labels

The red Decca labels are graded Excellent Plus. The spindle hole has no wear and there is just a few light spindle lines present as evidence of play. The rest of the labels show no unwanted marks or writing.

Cover

The Robert  Stace front laminated cover is thin by design as was all of the early sixties Decca covers.There are no splits, tears or writing just  a few age related  marks (see details below). I have graded the cover Very Good Plus.

Front Cover

The front cover laminate shows a few  light laminate wrinkles (nothing heavy)  close to the spine and bottom edge, and one or two half moon shaped wrinkles near the record entry edge. There are no rips, tears or writing. There is a light ring impression seen if the cover is angled toward the light and one or two age related spots.

Back Cover

The back cover design was largely white and unlaminated, so is unforgiving for poor storage conditions. This back cover has no writing, rips or ringwear, just a few minor age related spots that are visible on the cover scan and some general loss of whiteness. The only other point to note is a very small area of paper wear next to the record entry edge, again visible on the cover scan.

Spine Edge

                                 The spine is perfectly straight with just a few laminate wrinkles. All of the spine text is perfectly legible. 

Record Entry Edge

The record entry edge is straight with no rips or feathering.

Top and Bottom Edges

Both edges are perfectly straight with no splits or rub wear

Corners

The corners have just tiny rounding/ rub wear through storage.

Sound Quality

The sound quality is superb and this album was certainly not overplayed on any sixties deck. There is no distortion and no crackle or hiss throughout which is amazing for an album of this vintage. The R an B numbers sound fabulous with no loss of power, and Colin Blunstones vocals are amazing on the quiet numbers. A great listening pleasure.

Overall

A super original first pressing of the rare Zombies debut album. A solid excellent grade record with great audio quality. This album only comes along a few times a year on ebay so don`t miss out!
