Neil Young's Official Release Series reaches into the 90s with a box set collecting four of his most distinctive albums from the decade - Harvest Moon, Unplugged, Sleeps With Angels and Mirror Ball. Each captures a different facet of Young in transition: the reflective intimacy of Harvest Moon with its stripped-back warmth; the MTV-era Unplugged, showing how resilient his catalogue was in acoustic form; the dark, mournful sweep of Sleeps With Angels, written in the shadow of Kurt Cobain's death; and the raw, feedback-soaked Mirror Ball made with Pearl Jam, a meeting of generations. Remastered from the original tapes and housed in a deluxe package with historically faithful artwork, the set presents Young in restless, exploratory mode. It's a reminder that his 90s output remains as essential as his earlier peaks.
