Description
YMO - Technodelic
Synth pop electronic band from Japan, featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto. This is their 5th studio album released in 1981. This is an original Japanese pressing on ALFA records.
Its rare to find the cover with the paper strip on the cover featuring the band. It also contains a lyric booklet inside the cover. See photos.
Featuring the classic tracks 'Pure Jam' and 'Tasio'. I remember hearing both those tracks on Sydney's 2JJJ back in the early 80s.
From wikipedia:
- The album is notable for its experimental and heavy use of digital samplers which were not commonly used until the mid-to-late 1980s, resulting in a more minimalist sound compared to their previous work. It is considered the first released album to feature mostly samples and loops, influencing the heavy use of sampling and looping in popular music. Yellow Magic Orchestra's approach to sampling music was a precursor to the contemporary approach of constructing music by cutting fragments of sounds and looping them using computer technology.
The vinyl looks VG++. Some light surface scratches here & there, more noticeable small light scratches on side 2. The raised edges have fine surface scratches.
The lyric booklet is in excellent condition for its age.
I have owned this record since the 1980s.
