Title: Boris.

Label: Universal Studios.

Country: US.

Year: 1975?

Extremely rare excellent prog/psych LP. Absolutely stunning heavy guitars, flutes and weird synth sound effects. Jon Anderson alike vocals. Here is a couple of reviews from Acid Archives.

"Legendary local rarity with an interesting mix of styles. Opens like a late 60s westcoast folkrock LP, then moves into Yes-style symph/prog sounds with tempo shifts, moog leads and frantic playing. Basement recording with a live feel and plenty of enthusiasm saves this from the usual prog-rock traps, and the tongue-in-cheek, showtune feel that runs through it is an advantage in this context. Excellent, high-pitched vocals is another plus. Side 1 is impressive throughout, while some of the unique dementia is missing on the too-proggish side 2. While no great fan of the style this is an LP I'll probably return to in the future."

"This private press prog album has a really professional sound, with ultra-high male vocals in a Yes mode (actually, they most resemble the singer from the obscure prog band Facedancers). A really cool, powerful synth sound is highly effective early on but gets used a bit too much without variation, and over the whole album the constant tempo and rhythm shifts fall into the usual prog trap: they’re trying too hard and sucking the life out of their (mostly instrumental) melodies. That’s not to say that this album doesn’t have merit, though. Despite its faults it’s one of the most interesting albums in the genre, and the first five minutes or so should blow away even the most jaded listener. Too bad they didn’t write a couple of actual songs to give the listener some breathing room between the epics."

This has vanished totally, I haven't seen one offred for sale anywere for years. Here is the chance. Pokora 6 stars.

Cover: Heavily water damaged. Still in shrink and strongly attacked by mildew. Many places the artwork is loose from the cover and attached to the shrink instead, or is lying loose inside the shrink. It has discoloration and is slightly warped too by the effect of the water. A guess a patient soul could repair much of this, but this will never be nice copy. F+ or so.

Record: The good news is that the disc looks basically unplayed, I guess it’s only been played a couple of times, with just a few scuff marks and a bit dusty especially on side two. It plays very well with some light surface noise in a few places, but I bet a professional cleaning would result in a virtually flawless M- record. As it is VG++.

General information: Hi folks! Up for auction this week is a bunch of nice rare and very rare psych, beat and folk LP’s from around the world. Most of these I got on a consignment deal from a dealer friend of mine. All are in my possession and have been visually AND play graded. All records with a opening price higher than $70, has been played from start to end (sometimes more than once). All other records has been played to detect the overall audiable standart, any problem areas like obvious schratches etc has been played, in order to check out how bad they sound, but they might not have been played from start to end.

Please check out them all, many of these you will not see again for quite a while, so grab them now you got the chance. Reasonable opening prices and NO reserve.

As far as I can tell, these are all original first prints, unless otherwise stated. But I must admit that I am not familiar with all of these myself. I have tried to be accurate with my description, without being pedantic. If you need more information, like full track list, matrix number, additional photos etc please mail me, and I will try to help as good as I can. If you have any questions, or if you have knowledge about any of these that you feel should be stated in my description, please let me know, and I will add or correct.

Grading: VERY IMPORTANT!!! Please read my description of the record. That should give you the best picture of the condition of the disc, unlike just a grade that could be anything really. I intend to use GOLDMINE standards for grading, I don’t use M or EX as grade, best grade being M-, followed by VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G+, G, G-.

I have tried to be as accurate with my description instead of just giving a grade, as it seems that a M- record to some is a VG record to others and vice versa!!

I usually use the frases hairlines, scuffs and scratch. Anything that could be felt with a fingernail is a scratch. Hairlines is thin lines not to be felt with a nail, almost every record has these thin lines from being pulled in and out of paper innerbags. Scuffmarks are usually bigger marks on the surface, but still not feelable with a nail.

If in doubt please mail me and I’ll help you the best I can.

All records are guaranteed, if you are not satisfied, you get your money back (except postage).

Shipping and Postage: All records will be very well packed in cardboard mailers, with records outside covers (unless sealed). Postage at actual cost, but the Danish postal service are a bunch of thiefs, please see table below. I can not recommend unregistered letters, as they are not insured and impossible to track if lost. I am working at strange hours and long shifts, so it’s not always possible for me to ship immediately after payment arrives. Shippings will be made AT LEAST once a week.
