UK FIRST PRESSING POLYDOR PRESSED PLUM ATLANTIC LABEL VINYL LP WITH LYRIC INSERT AND ORIGINAL POLY-LINED WHITE INNER SLEEVE.

Something of a transition album for Yes - the last one with the first line-up but the first one to really explore additional instrumentation, featuring brass, strings and some very adventurous musical compositions. 'Time and a Word' did not sell that well when it was released, so first pressing plum Atlantic's are harder to come by for this album than any other Yes album. Which is a shame, as there is some glorious music and vituoso playing on 'Time and a Word', including material the band still plays live today. It is even harder to find with the lyric insert, about two thirds of the copies we have ever seen are lacking this item.

SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+, JUST LIGHT SHELF, RING AND EDGE WEAR. A FEW SPOT MARKS IN WHITE AREAS, SOME WRITING AND SELLOTAPE RESIDUE TOP RIGHT REAR (SEE PHOTO). INNER SLEEVE IS VERY GOOD+. LYRIC INSERT IS THE CORRECT ONE WITH CATALOGUE NUMBER 2400 006 AND IS VERY GOOD EXCEPT FOR A SMALL STAIN TOP RIGHT - IT SEEMS TO BE SOME CANDLE WAX DROPPED INTO IT - A VERY AUTHENTIC ARTIFACT FROM 1969!

DISC: VISUALLY A VERY GOOD+ COPY THAT PLAYS MOSTLY EXCELLENT MINUS. NO SCRATCHES AND ONLY MINOR SPINDLE WEAR. THERE ARE LIGHT HAIRLINES AND A FEW VERY LIGHT SCUFFS THAT DO NOT SOUND AND ARE NOT SCRATCHES. SUPER CLEAN LABELS BOTH SIDES. OVERALL A SPLENDID PLAYING COPY WITH SUPERB AUDIO. NO SKIPS OR JUMPS, NO DETRIMENTAL SURFACE NOISES, JUST A FEW STATIC TYPE POPS AND TICKS IN THE QUIETEST OF PASSAGES ON ACCOUNT OF THE ALBUM'S DYNAMIC RANGE. NOT A PERFECT COPY, BUT ONE OF THE BEST WE HAVE SEEN AND HEARD OF THIS EXTREMELY HARD TO FIND YES ALBUM.  WE COMPARED THIS TO THE GEORGE PIROS USA ORIGINAL CUT, WHICH WE ALWAYS THOUGHT TO BE A REALLY GOOD PRESSING, BUT EVEN THE PIROS PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE ORIGINAL UK POLYDOR PRESSING.
